GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN ENDS, NFIP EXTENDED TO JANUARY 30, 2026
On November 12, 2025, President Trump signed into law H.R.5371, the “Continuing Appropriations, Agriculture, Legislative Branch, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Extensions Act, 2026,” ending the longest government shutdown in U.S. history and extending the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) through January 30, 2026.
Congress must now reauthorize the NFIP by 11:59 p.m. on January 30, 2026.
